the relative successes and sudden cancellations

Media Announcements: Despite the cheery headline affixed to it, my assessment of the relative successes of Bayou Country Superfest appears in this week's 225 blog. I'm not sure I would ever call something a "super-success" even if it was one. Above is a shot of the skyboxes in Tiger Stadium, looking a little like a docked ocean liner, as we made our way out.

Book Festival: That went well

Also, The Louisiana Book Festival, staged each year on the nicest October weekend each year here in Baton Rouge, has fallen victim to State budget cuts. It was one of the coolest things we pull off here. The Business Report has more of the story. I've participated in it since 2006 and folks that travel to these things year 'round proclaimed it to be one of best-run and most comprehensive festivals in the country. Total bummer.
