Morton Feldman

Morton Feldman - Three Voices for Joan La Barbara (lala)- I knew I loved Morton Feldman's way of suspending time in a clear gel so its slightest movements can be examined with intimacy, and I knew I loved Joan la Barbara's reimagining of the purpose of the human voice, but this pulsing collaboration is a thing of dizzying structure and staggering beauty. The pauses and breaths become a beat from repeated cycles of voices going in and out of harmonic coexistence, where even Frank O'Hara's words slowly transmute from "snowfalls" to "that's not false" possibly only in juxtaposition with itself.
Morton Feldman - String Quartet - Ditto, except with string quartets.
