Before I bring the disc for Stockhausen's Momente back to the library, I feel compelled to share this image from the booklet: a Deri kidney-drum with a calf-skin head (not with a plastic head). It is designed so that a wide variety of pitches can be played on the same drum, which is cool and interesting and all, but man, all I can think of is how badass that would look in my music room.
If anyone wants to find a good home for a kidney drum they just keep tripping over, drop me a line.
