It is racist to say Jamaicans are crazy, yet the stereotype is gloriously exemplified/exploited (but which?) in the masters of dub. Among the crazy-seeming-est is Scientist who labels his blissed-out, echo-mad innocuous splendor with comic book grandiosity. He consorts with Klingons, takes on Space Invaders, even wins The World Cup, all while burbling and throbbing away on the loveliest deconstructed reggae in the entire irie isle. Scientist fulfills the picture William Gibson paints of dub in Neuormancer, as dread pilots push gigantic spacecraft across infinty, enclosed in cloud of smoke and the thud chunka thud dub.
