Reminder: Tonight is the Word Storm reading at the Old Governor's House, right across Highland from the LSU Union on that university's campus of vast lawns and stately oaks. 7 - 10 p.m. Free. Scads of Baton Rouge writers will be be reading 1-minute pieces in an order determined by the organizer's obscure process. So to relieve those wary of friends' readings, when someone is boring, it will be over quick and move onto something new. Please come.
My friend Lance and I both went to see Caribou years ago and ducked out of the crowd at different times to buy t-shirts. We both individually got ones in mango with pink lettering partly because they were cool and partly because we were sure the other was not going to pick that color and didn't realize it until we were carpooling home. A year or so later, I went over to his house to watch a movie with a bunch of people absently wearing that shirt and he bounded down the steps in his. If I can find mine, I might wear it at the reading tonight, just in hopes that he doesn't read this and makes it to the reading in his.
Some animal tracks Maya spied in the dust on the bus the other day.
