post-holiday-lunch-work-party music
Can - Future Days (lala)
Les Violons du Roy performing Bartok's Music for Strings, Percussion, and Celesta (lala)
Sufjan Stevens - A Sun Came (lala)
Iron & Wine - Our Endless Numbered Days (lala)
Friends of Dean Martinez - Retrograde (lala)
Oren Bloedow & Jennifer Charles - La Mar Enfortuna (lala)
All I can say is that I am glad I was not selected to be a Christmas Tree, elf, reindeer nor snowman during the entertainment portion of the lunch party. And I'm also thankful the era of wild and crazy office parties (for me anyway) are largely a thing of the past. They seem a good idea on paper but always, always end poorly.
Slate has some great photos of ones from the distant past and sad, recent future. Click on Larry from sales and that one chick from accounting below for more.

Those photographs are fantastic. They remind me of the office party episodes from Mad Men.
ReplyDeleteThinking about you at that office party made me laugh out loud.
ReplyDeleteAnd speaking of post-holiday party albums, Sufjan Steven's "Songs for Christmas" album totally rocks the house in a completely earnest way, especially the awesome crunch of "Hey Guys! It's Christmas Time!" and the never-leave-your-brain-until-long-after-Christmas "We're goin to the country."
A little birdie told me about that chosing the Santa and elf thing at the party. That person said that she would have turned around and walked out had she been "chosen".

Pretty nice place you've got here. Thank you for it. I like such topics and anything that is connected to this matter. I would like to read a bit more on that blog soon.
