100 Words About Hurricane Numbness

We are getting rain and wind as Hurricane Ike makes its
unbelievably kind-for-Louisiana loop through Texas to devastate
Arkansas. Lights and network access are flickery and I'm sitting in a
software demo presented by some folks from Ohio who are exhibiting as
many signs of being scared shitless that membership in a traveling
marketing team allows. They are trying hard to be cool as the rest of
us look at swirling storm loops on weather.com, but few have wanted be
out of the South more than they, nervously uttering "Any questions?"
clutching their backpacks, amazed that my supervisor inexhaustibly
does.

  1. Of course being Buckeyes, they could handle blizzards much better than "southeners" would (as seen time and time again by winter traffic accident clips on TV)
