Mink DeVille was one of those early rock 'n' roll/punk transition bands I used to see on Night Flight as a kid. They were the house band at CBGB's from 1975-1977. One could make a case that Lou Reed copped a lot of his shtick from Mink DeVille, though I suspect they both were borrowing from the same ideas/heroes.

I always liked their cover of "Cadillac Walk" as well
