This genius mix tape from early 2009 compiled by French band Phoenix has been coming up a lot while searching for artists and songs. It is full to the brim of beloveds, forgottens, unknowns and classics. Plus there is an understood rule among compilers that every mix tape should contain at least one KISS or AC/DC song, and it's nice to see that rule heeded here in such an inspired way.
This thing is nearly perfect. The only speed bump is one I experienced yesterday - no matter how good a song Chris Bell's "I Am the Cosmos" is, it is nearly impossible to gracefully segue into it.
And ending with Lou Reed's "Street Hassle".... that song is a genius mix tape unto itself.
